Mesobotox is a medical cosmetic procedure that can reduce fine lines and wrinkles, resulting in smoother, younger-looking skin. It can also reduce pore size and oil production and decrease facial sweating.
This procedure is similar to Botox/ Xeomin injection in that you’ll receive botulinum toxin injections in your skin. Mesobotox, however, uses a microneedle and a small amount of diluted Botox. The Botox is injected in a wider distribution throughout your face, usually in the T zone.
With traditional Botox treatments, doctors inject Botox into the muscle layer. But mesobotox isn’t injected into the muscle. Rather, it’s injected into a deeper level of the skin, or dermis, resulting in:
- reduction in fine lines
- smaller pores
- reduced sweating
Similar to traditional Botox, mesobotox treatments aren’t permanent. Your skin will gradually return to normal after 3 months, at which point you’ll need to repeat treatments if desired.
What is the difference between botox and mesobotox?
The microinjections are performed with very fine needle in a superficial level and do not affect the muscles involved in facial expression. This keeps facial muscles safe from the “freezing” effect usually associated with Botox injections.
How does mesobotox work?
The treatment targets the oil and sweat glands on your skin – oil production and sweat are decreased by the lessened function of the glands responsible for their action.
Intradermal Botox in the arrector pili muscles in the skin helps control pore size.
This works to tighten the appearance of the skin, giving you that more youthful look, and smoothing out any imperfections in the process.
